The views of Jerome on MyDD

Sun May 18, 2008 at 08:59:38 AM PDT

As it has been discussed here at length, Jerome at MyDD has been displaying some interesting behavior.  I have long been a fan of both DailyKos and MyDD (and now also Open Left).  Having said that, it was a great ride together back in 2004 as we rode the Howard Dean ship through the highs and lows of the 2004 campaign - the blogs made me more politically active and aware than I have ever been before and I believe helped lay the groundwork for 2008 for Obama.

However, the constant dissing by Jerome of Obama on MyDD has me a bit confused. (I would have posted this there but there are so many hoops to jump through to become a certified member).

Tomorrow, I will be voting for Obama

Fri Jan 25, 2008 at 07:58:19 PM PDT

I am here to say that I am everything that will not vote for Barack Obama in tomorrow's election in South Carolina:  gay, white, and male.  I am here to show incorrect reasoning by the pollsters and pundits that seem to think that "blacks" will vote for Obama, "gays" will vote for Hillary, and "whites" (especially white males) will go for Edwards.

I'll admit - I've been persuaded to move to the Edwards camp, particularly to see him move into second and pushing the campaign of Hillary to third.  However, I don't want what happened in NH to happen in SC - so I'm voting for Obama.  I've been able to convince both of my white parents as well to vote for Barack, despite living in the heartland of John Edwards country - Oconee County.

I have been truly, truly disappointed with how Hillary (and Bill) have run her presidential campaign and each day I lose more and more respect for the man and woman I once had so much admiration for.  I used to say, "Hillary's okay, she's my third choice..." but now I find myself saying, "I hope we're not stuck with her."  Barack must win SC tomorrow to keep this thing alive and keep "hope" alive - but we will see.

Thanks for reading my 2nd ever diary to Daily Kos.  :)

I voted in the republican primary in South Carolina

Tue Jun 13, 2006 at 10:51:32 AM PDT

I would like to introduce myself to everyone.  My name is Joshua Lemere and I have been a lurker on DailyKos for quite some time now - about 3 years or so.  With the inspiration of YearlyKos, I have decided to "come out" and post my first ever diary.

I participated in the South Carolina Republican Primary that is being held today to vote against one of the nation's most horrible governors - Mark Sanford.  He is being challenged by a doctor and former committe chair under Sanford by the name of Oscar Lovelace.

As a 5th grade teacher, I felt it important to save our educational system from the threat of private vouchers, which Sanford is bent on shoving through our state legislature (besides already being defeated once).  He is so harmful to something that I hold so dear to my heart that I had to do whatever I could to vote against him.
